SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note
The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that influences the perceived effectiveness of corporate trainings which are provided by the companies in Turkish financial sector by means of class trainings and e-learnings. The research used the data collected by 111 employees who all work in Turkish financial sector. According to this data, the factors which influence the effectiveness of class trainings and e-learnings were separately analyzed. As a result relevant content is found as the most significant factor which influences the perceived effectiveness of both class trainings and e-learnings. As a second variable, organizational climate is the other significant factor influencing the effectiveness of the trainings. In addition to these factors, level of customization which is a sub dimension of training factors is found as another variable that is significantly affecting the effectiveness of e-learnings. But this factor is not significant for class trainings. On the other hand, according to the results of the research the duration of the training, physical factors related to the environment of the training and motivation to learn had relatively weak contributions to the perceived effectiveness of the training. This research is expected to provide the companies in Turkish financial sector with a guidance of corporate training planning. Also, the results of this dissertation can hopefully enlighten the corporate trainers to organize more efficient trainings.
