The need to conduct research on the role of instruction in the development of interlanguage pragmatics (ILP) in order to strengthen the link between ILP and the acquisition of second language (SLA) seems to be the vital one, particularly in case of learners of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Iran.Thus, the present study aims at examining the effectiveness of jigsaw-based cooperative learning method on learning request and apology speech acts.To this end, a quasi-experimental design was utilized to examine the effectiveness of the treatment.To reach the goal, two classes were selected. The participants were 40 female learners of English as a foreign language at intermediate level. One class was selected as an experimental group (n=20) in which the speech acts of request and apology were taught using the jigsaw-based cooperative learning method and the other as a control group (n=20) in which the speech acts of request and apology were taught using the traditional method. The results gained from comparing pretest and posttest scores indicate that,there is a statistically significant difference between pre- and post-test scores of jigsaw-based cooperative learning method. Therefore, using jigsaw based cooperative learning method proves to be more efficient than conventional methods. The findings of this study will be of help for both English teachers and learners regarding finding the best method of teaching and learning speech acts of request and apology.

لزوم تحقیق درباره‌ی نقش آموزش زبان در توسعه و پیشرفت کاربردشناسی میان‌زبانی، به منظور تقویت ارتباط بین کاربردشناسی میان زبانی و فراگیری زبان دوم به ویژه در خصوص زبان‌آموزان ایرانی که زبان انگلیسی را به عنوان زبان خارجی می‌آموزند، اساسی به نظر میرسد .بنابراین هدف تحقیق حاضر، بررسی اثربخشی روش یادگیری مشارکتی مبتنی بر حل مساله) پازل (بر روی یادگیری رفتارهای درخواست و عذرخواهی کردن می‌باشد .بدین منظور، روش شبه _تجربی مورد استفاده قرار گرفت تا اثربخشی این روش مورد آزمایش قرار بگیرد .برای دستیابی به این هدف، دو کلاس درسی انتخاب شدند .مشارکت کنندگان، ۴۰ نفر از زبان‌آموزان مونث سطح متوسط بودند که زبان انگلیسی را به عنوان زبان خارجی خود می‌آموختند .یک کلاس بیست نفره به عنوان کلاس مورد آزمایش انتخاب شد که در آن رفتارهای درخواست و عذرخواهی با استفاده از روش مشارکتی یادگیری مبتنی بر حل مساله) پازل (تدریس شد .و کلاس بیست نفره‌ی دیگر، به عنوان گروه کنترل تحقیق انتخاب شد که در آن رفتارهای درخواست و عذرخواهی به روش سنتی تدریس شدند .نتایج به دست آمده از مقایسه پیش آزمون و پس آزمون نشان می‌دهد که تفاوت چشمگیری در نمرات پیش آزمون و پس آزمون در روش یادگیری مشارکتی مبتنی بر حل مساله وجود دارد .در نتیجه، استفاده از روش یادگیری مشارکتی مبتنی بر حل مساله از روش‌های سنتی موثرتر می‌باشد .یافته های تحقیق فعلی، جهت یافتن بهترین روش برای آموزش و یادگیری رفتارهای درخواست و عذرخواهی کردن، مورد استفاده دبیران و زبان‌آموزان قرار خواهد گرفت
