پژوهش‌های گوناگونی برای ارزیابی وضعیت عملکرد شناختی بیماران مبتلا به اسکیزوفرنیا و اختلال دوقطبی I و مقایس آن‌ها با یکدیگر انجام گرفته است .انجام چنین پژوهشی در بیماران سرپایی در ایران سابق چندانی ندارد .روش :دو گروه ۵۰ نفری از بیماران سرپایی در این پژوهش بررسی شدند .این افراد دست‌کم به‌مدت سه ماه، در وضعیت یوتایمیک بودند و براساس ملاک‌هایTR -IV- DSMمبتلا به اسکیزوفرنیا و اختلال دوقطبی I تقسیم‌بندی شدند .دو گروه آزمودنی ازنظر سه متغیر اصلی یعنی سن، میزان تحصیلات، طول مدت ابتلا به بیماری به‌دقت همسان‌سازی شدند .این متغیرها براساس منابع، ممکن است بیشترین سهم را در وضعیت شناختی بیماران داشته باشند .برای هریک از آزمودنی‌ها، آزمون دسته‌بندی کارت‌های ویسکانسین انجام گرفت و نتایج با یکدیگر مقایسه شد .یافته‌ها :میانگین نتایج آزمون دسته‌بندی کارت‌های ویسکانسین در هر دو گروه مبتلایان به اسکیزوفرنیا و اختلال دوقطبی به‌طور معناداری کمتر از جمعیت نرمال بود .سطح عملکرد شناختی نیز در بیماران اسکیزوفرنیا به‌طور معناداری نسبت‌به بیماران دوقطبی کمتر بود .بحث :عملکرد اجرایی در مبتلایان به اسکزوفرنیا ضعیف‌تر از مبتلایان به اختلال دوقطبی I بود .کلیدواژه‌ها :آزمون دسته‌بندی کارت‌های ویسکانسین، اختلال دوقطبیI ، اسکیزوفرنیا، عملکرد اجرایی .

Objective: Various studies have been perfomed to evaluate the executive function of schizophrenic patients. However such studies have seldom been done in out patient groups in Iran.Methods: Two out patient groups of fifty patients each that had Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder according to DSM-IV-TR and that had been in the euthymic state for at least three months, were studied. The two groups of examinee were matched carefully based on the three main variables mentioned in literature that could potentially have the most evident effect on executive function. The variables were age, educational qualifications and duration of the disorder. For each of the examinees the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) performed and the results were compared.Findings: The average results of the WCST in both groups were significantly lower compared with the normal population and the level of executive finction in schizophrenic patients was significantly lower compared to that of Bipolar patients.Results: The level of executive function was significantly lower in schizophrenic patients compared to that of Bipolar patients.Key words: Executive function, Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Department of
