Baybars al-Manṣūrī (d. 725/1325) was a Mamlūk general and historian of Turkic Qarakhitay origin, whose career was intricately tied to the tumultuous rule of al-Nāṣir Muḥammad, who reigned three times during the period 693/1293 to 741/1341. Brought to Egypt in 659/1261 while still in his teens, Baybars al-Manṣūrī was purchased by the amīr Qalāwūn, later sultan al-Manṣūr Qalāwūn (r. 678-89/1279-90), hence the nisba al-Manṣūrī. He participated in military campaigns under Qalāwūn and the sultan al-Ẓāhir Baybars I (
